Sewing..

I have always loved to sew...but i have also always been more of  like sewing on paper and making garlands...it wasn't until almost 2 years ago i decided to take a real sewing class at my community college...i LOVED it i recommend it to anyone who really wants to learn construction of sewing or how to read patterns and so on....but then fast forward a year and well just like anything if you do not do it often you kinda forget the tricks....so with it being a new year i decided to take a little class at my local fabric shop...I got my dear friend to go with me and together with lots of laughing we made ourselves these super cute clutch purses..i LOVED mine...and I loved it so much i decided to make a few more...and give one away today...it is made with one of my favorite fabrics from japan and it looks totally vintage...all you have to do is leave a comment and let me know if you are starting something new this year or a new hobby or a craft...or maybe even like me starting a way better healthy lifestyle...ok well I i will draw a winner on friday as tomorrow is nutts so day as i help with booth set up at the hobby show...I will be posting lots of fabulous stuff while i am in L.A...oh and if anybody knows of any cute vintage clothing stores in L.A...let me know PLEASE......

Knock Knock anyone there...

So starting today Michelle Hill is back...and I mean BACK...back to share with you my family...my finds...my creations...my travels...and what ever else fancies the day....I have missed being on this blog and now that PDW's blog is all taken care of by my talented team and me... I will finally have a chance to update this one almost daily...I haven't figured out a schedule yet but I plan on doing one early next week...so each day i hope to give you some inspiration...we all know i love estate sale...and thrift stores and anything old..I also love creating and sewing and making stuff...and this is were you will find it..also I have a fun e-class for you coming up..more on that tomorrow...so for today and to see if anyone is even still out there..I want to share with you where I went last week..UTAH!! to the alt design summit..with my dear friend christy...i had a blast..I also went up to park city to the sundance film festival with some new friends i met..good times i tell you...You might wonder what the design summit is all about well it's about blogging..years ago when i started this blog it was awesome I was traveling sharing my stories and my creations..and that was Michelle Hill and then came PDW {polkadot Whimsy} and well for the last 3 years that sorta took over ....dont get me wrong PDW is my life BUT I have so missed this blog and sharing with you...many of you helped me out in so many ways through the yucky teenage years with my oldest...and cheered me on when i created something fun...and I hope to bring back that community again...sound good...ok well leave me a comment why you love blogs and I will draw a name and tomorrow  { i did this for pdw} and you will get a fab little something i made..which i will share tomorrow with you....I also have a new twitter account just for me...so you wanna start following...here is a little photo collage of my trip...

2011 really????

Good Morning Friends,

So this personal blog of mine is finally going to see some action. With PDW's blog all organized I now will have the time to focus on my blog and share with you lot's of great things to come this year and places i go and creations i create. Plus my family, i love talking about them even the crappy times. This morning though I decided to lay in bed a little longer and think about my long emotional week i have had. To think about the way i want this year to be! I am signing up for this class, and possibly going to utah for this. Really start focusing on ME { i know selfish} and what i WANT. I have so many small goals for my little company, and I really want to take it to the next level and make it a top notch kit club. With PDW i sometimes let way to many distractions distract me from what i want to do, but no more. Also creating again, I create for PDW but I want to teach classes again and get back out there I want to spend late late night in my scraproom just creating. That is why this class i signed up for is going to be fabulous, i will get to hang out with friends make some new ones...{lord knows i need that}...and really re-connect with other artists. I use that word because in the middle of this insane week I got my hair done and my hair dresser who has done my hair for year was so excited when i asked for something different. She said "finally my michelle the artist is back" I was like umm ok...and the more I thought about it the more she was right. I used to be this care free girl would chop all her off just to do it. Then over the past few years lazy started to set in. You can see lazy, let me tell you. So to make a long story short we did it and my hairdresser and I and were both so happy the way it came out. So I guess what this blog post is about is get out there take care of YOU! I know I am on the right path of that and I cannot wait to share a picture of myself when i finally get into those darn jeans that stare at me every darn day...lol..I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and If you also signed up for the class let me know...xo xo xo
