I have always loved to sew...but i have also always been more of like sewing on paper and making garlands...it wasn't until almost 2 years ago i decided to take a real sewing class at my community college...i LOVED it i recommend it to anyone who really wants to learn construction of sewing or how to read patterns and so on....but then fast forward a year and well just like anything if you do not do it often you kinda forget the tricks....so with it being a new year i decided to take a little class at my local fabric shop...I got my dear friend to go with me and together with lots of laughing we made ourselves these super cute clutch purses..i LOVED mine...and I loved it so much i decided to make a few more...and give one away today...it is made with one of my favorite fabrics from japan and it looks totally vintage...all you have to do is leave a comment and let me know if you are starting something new this year or a new hobby or a craft...or maybe even like me starting a way better healthy lifestyle...ok well I i will draw a winner on friday as tomorrow is nutts so day as i help with booth set up at the hobby show...I will be posting lots of fabulous stuff while i am in L.A...oh and if anybody knows of any cute vintage clothing stores in L.A...let me know PLEASE......

Ohhhhhhh myyyyyy gosssshhhh.... Michele that turned out soo cute. And I love the fabric you used in the last picture I used to have so many of those darn things. That was the "car" "on the go" intertainment when I was a kid. I know dating myself. But then you know how much I LOVE "old" stuff. For me this year is about "ME" physically and emotionaly cleaning house so that I can make room for what makes me happy and creative. Thanks for sharing, see you soon.

I'm so impressed! I, too, am really trying to get into sewing this year and am also trying to focus this year on purging -- both the physical (weight, stuff I dont' need, etc) and the mental.

Your purses are SO cute. I wish I could sew but after trying many, many times I finally accepted that it is not something I can do. This year I am really into making collages and I am taking the She Art Workshop so hopefully that will make me more creative.
